Elkie Brooks Live & Acoustic CD
Sixty years into her storied career, Elkie Brooks has today confirmed details of a brand new 12-track album, ‘Live And Acoustic,’ which will be released on 22/11/24 (via Backline Studios). This new album was recorded completely live in 2021 at one of her favourite local venues, the Landmark Theatre in North Devon and is the legendary British singer’s first live long-player in almost twenty years.
Elkie performed this one-off acoustic concert accompanied by pianist Tom Kincaid and saxophonist Mike Smith. A first in Elkie's illustrious six decade career, ‘Live And Acoustic’ documents a unique moment in time and perfectly illustrates her dynamic range and resonant vocal timbre. As well as featuring a selection of her favourite songs from her hit-packed back catalogue, Elkie also covers tracks written by artists such as Prince and Bob Dylan during the set.
As Elkie remarked during the show, "The pandemic closed the doors to our theatres and music halls. To be back onstage, to sing to people, to see faces, hear applause and to share this space is truly humbling. I will forever cherish this evening.”
